I really respect the arts especially the art of cinematography. I like movies that leave you thinking or that have good story lines. I must admit, there are some movies that I like that have no point, plot, or message but those are mostly comedies. I've been interested in movies every since I was young. My mother would always take me and my sister to the movies. We saw all kinds of movies. Some movies I must say were inappropriate for us at our age but whenever a part in a movie came up she always would tell us to cover our eyes. Now that I am older I notice a lot of things in certain movies that I never noticed when I was young but I guess that's the beauty of movies. The fact that I could go back and watch the movies that I grew up on or the movies that I wasn't allowed to watch when I was young makes me happy. Some movies really take me back to a place. I can honesty say that every movies I have take me back to a certain time or feeling in my life. I love movies so much I've even thought about making my own one day but I'm not sure that I want to go that route all though I would have a lot to show the world. With all that being said, I like movies and I hope that people continue to make good ones so that I can have more to blog about.

Movies/School Daze
I love movies, good movies. I like films that make you think, laugh , have action and even make you cry. But the movies I like the most are one's that make you think.People tend to ignore a lot of today's issuses or they just don't wanna acknowledge them for whatever reason. Spike Lee is one of my favorite directors. School Daze is a movie that was written and directed by Spike Lee. It was his second movie that he made.It is a movie that takes place in the late 80's on the campus of Mission College. The film deals with issuses such as people involved in black greek life versus people who aren't, the issue of light skinned versus dark skinned blacks, blacks that were in college versus blacks that weren't, and it also touched a little bit on the issuse of the apartheid that was taken place during that time in South Africa. I like the movie because it makes you think and it adresses subjects that are rarely shared or not shared at all. I can relate to some of the movie because I am a black college student in a black sorority so I can understand some of the issues. There are some issues that I can not relate to because of the changes that have happended throughout the years. The subject of light skinned versus darker skinned blacks isn't one that I have experienced because it isn't such a big problem like it was back in the day. I would suggest that everyone check out School Daze not only because it's a good movie but also because it can teach people things about other cultures and issues that they deal with to help people be more open minded and not so close minded about others and what they go through.
